Résumé
L'objectif de cet article est d'analyser la construction d'un discours stratégique rationalisant. Il montre comment la pensée stratégique qui apparaît dans l'univers étatique vers la fin du Moyen Âge repose sur l'existence d'une “grammaire narrative” d'inspiration géométrique. Cette grammaire a des effets déshumanisants qui rendent l'utilisation de la violence militaire plus facile au plan émotionnel.
Abstract
This article's aim is to analyze the construction of rationalizing strategic discourse. It explains how the strategic thought which emerged with the birth of the State-centric world towards the end of the Middle Ages rests on the existence of a geometrically inspired “narrative grammar”. Such ‘grammar' has some dehumanizing effects rendering the use of military violence emotionally easier.
